Matte liquid lipsticks - Rated Best to Worst.

I have quite dry lips although I exfoliate and moisturise therefore they are not too flaky. I first tried Gerard Cosmetics liquid lipsticks and fell in love with the way they dry fast and you are less likely to have to re apply the product. I will list below links of where to get the products and what shades i used.

1. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick
The feel of this formula on my lips is very light weight, isn't sticky and doesn't dry out your lips either. I like the feel of the wand too it is soft and glides on the product evenly and flawlessly. After the product is on your lips for a few hours it doesn't separate, it may have worn off on the inner part of your lips if you are drinking, eating oily foods, or kissing. as the oils break down the product on the lips therefore wearing it off a bit. I was expecting that though as, it is vegan and contains no nasty chemicals either therefore natural oils will break down the product.
Jeffree star has an amazing range of colours, may favourite is celebrity skin, i also have posh spice, scorpio, watermelon soda, and the lip ammunition celebrity skin.

The formula to this product isn't as creamy as the Jeffree Star one. This lip product is easier to use on top of a lip liner as it is hard to line the lips with only the liquid lipstick. The colours are really pigmented, good quality and light weight feeling. Although, they can dry out your lips after a few hours therefore moisturising your lips before application. Also I never have to re apply throughout the day but i have before and it can sometimes feel a bit too 'cakey' with 2 layers on the lips. I feel that it is worth the price it is retailed at and I get many compliments when wearing my lip kit. I have Dolce K and KoKo K.

This is the first liquid lipstick I tried and I fell in love with the way that liquid lipsticks give and amazing matte coverage on your lips and the colours are so pigmented, The brush on this liquid
lipstick isn't as soft as the Jeffree Star velour liquid lipstick. But, I do love the formula, I haven't experienced any patchiness, and the colours are pigmented. It doesn't feel cakey on the lips and it doesn't dry it out as much as the Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks. Also these liquid lipsticks are inexpensive and good quality.
I have the shades Invasion, Iced Mocha and Ecstasy. The colour range on beauty bay is amazing, I haven't tried any of the nude shades although, I do what Aphrodite.

4.LA Splash Couture Liquid Lipstick
This is one of the worst liquid lipsticks I have tried as it feels cakey and dries out the lips to the point of them cracking within half an hour of application. The wand was a similar shape to the Kylie Cosmetics as it is quite long, although the formula is very runny. I do like the colours, they have a wide range of them. Also the packaging is chic with the gold writing and lid. Also, the price of them is inexpensive and easy to deliver in the UK as they stock them on Beauty Bay. I have the shade Ghoulish which is quite purple and grey it is good for a winter day, and also, Rose Garden which is quite bright compared to the colour the picture shows although, it is still a nice colour for the spring and summer.

5. Sleek liquid lipstick
The colour I purchased was Birthday Suit and I was excited to try out my first nude shade of liquid lipstick. When I swatched it on the back of my hand it appeared nude with an undertone of pink. Although, when I applied to the lips it wasn't nude, more of a dark pink. And the applicator is stiff and hard to move to outline the lips. Also the consistency of the formula is runny therefore when removing the applicator out of the container the liquid smeared all over the top of the packaging and got messy really quick which, has never happened to any liquid lipstick before so, I was surprised to see how messy it was, I felt that it was cakey, sticky on the lips and drying too. Overall, I tried this product once and wouldn't recommend it to anyone as it isn't a good product.
I do love SLEEK products though, the highlighters are really pigmented and long lasting so, I am not dissing the brand.

Favourite products of the month

This is a blog post about my favourite products of the October month, I have included skincare, hair care and makeup products. My skin type is super dry and dehydrated, and my hair is also damaged from bleach so the products I have used are best suitable for these conditions.

Moroccan Oil

My hair, especially the ends, needed a real moisture boost and shine. I have tried coconut oil, argan oil, macadamia oil, and all sorts of hair masques. But this product Moroccan oil is by far the best. The texture is really thick and soft in the palm of my hand and once applied to the hair it is immediately soaked in and leaves your hair soft and silky feeling. Also, I felt that my hair dried faster and looked shiner too.
The bottle is a pump dispenser which makes it easy and messy free to use. You can purchase smaller bottles which are perfect to try the product out before buying the full price one, and they are really good for a travel size too.
I only used a small pea-sized amount of the product and it was well more than enough for all of the lengths of my hair, I wouldn't apply to the roots unless you were to use it as a pre treatment oil, in which, you would apply to all of your hair including your scalp the night before a shower to allow it to soak into the hair and scalp, this will help really condition your hair and detangle. Also nourish the hair cuticle to encourage hair growth.

Duo-Lash Eyelash Glue

This lash glue is unlike any other i've ever used, it is thicker and stronger than eyelure, primark own and KISS. The best way to use this product is to apply it carefully and thinly to the lash band making sure to apply or squeeze the tube too hard or else it ends up in a sticky mess. Allow the glue to dry for 30-60 seconds, then look down into the mirror and use either tweezers or fingers to apply the false eyelashes to the lashline carefully and accurately. Duo-Lash glue prevents the lashes from falling off on the edges or sliding about the eyelid as some of them do, it is very strong and quick drying.
The only down sides to this product is that it contains latex although, they have brought out a new Duo-Lash glue that is for sensitive eyes and doesn't contain latex which i will link - HERE.
Also, although it is amazing and very useful not to have to carry around this glue for touch ups as you won't need to, it is very hard to get your lashes off at the end of the day. I wear mine for around 8-9 hours a day and each day it is hard to take it off my skin, sometimes i have to use some coconut oil to remove the lashes, and the glue can be left on the eye, which is sticky and can be stuck to the eyelashes if you are not careful. All I use to remove it all is the Clinique Take the day off balm, which is one of my favourite products of the month too.

Clinique take the day off balm

I used to use face wipes a few years ago, then i upgraded to the Garnier micellar water containing oil which felt a lot more moisturising for my skin although, i felt like it wasn't fully removing all of my makeup from my skin. so i thought i would try a cleansing balm as I heard that they are amazing for removing all traces of makeup and leaving the skin hydrated. I watched the MannyMua video of him reviewing the clinique skincare range, which brought me to try out the cleansing balm.
I feel that it is really easy to take off my makeup and it does dry out my skin either. I use a sponge to remove the balm from my face to take off the rest of my makeup. After, i use the Aloe Vera cleansing cream twice to remove all the dirt, oils and dead skin cells from the surface of my skin also, the left overs of the balm that I may have missed removing.

Real Techniques Expert face brush

This is the best real techniques brush i have used as the brushes are so soft and dense unlike any other. I feel like it applies and blends my foundation into my face flawlessly without it being streaky or showing my pores. It is very versatile, I use it to blend in foundation, concealer, and cream contour. This isn't too pricey either and can be purchased in a set of  'Core brush set' by Real Techniques. The best way to clean these brushes is using coconut oil which really gets into the synthetic fibres cleaning them with the anti bacterial properties the coconut has. Leaving the brush feeling soft and brand new.
